It’s been more than one month since I arrived at this town. And today I’d like to introduce some stores I usually go to.
home bargains, as the name shows, sells a range of bargain goods, from food to beauty stuff. The Loughborough store is located at Devonshire Square. If you depart from the University, when you walk through the Market Street, you need to turn right at the end. Then, walk straight down and you’ll see the store on your right-hand side. Because the prices are really cheap, there are always a lot of shoppers. I’ll suggest you buy snacks and household goods, if you ask me.

Wilkinson is also one of my favorite,and it’s quite popular with the locals. Why do I know about this? Well, because every time I walk on the streets, at least one out of five people I see carries a Wilkinson bag! It sells mostly household things, but it also has beauty goods, stationery and a little food. When it comes to household things, you have much more choices here than in home bargains, which is mentioned above. Although the goods here are not the cheapest, you can find real bargains sometimes, especially those things on sale! Oh, I forgot to mention the location. The store is beside a shopping centre called The Rushes. It has two entrances/exits, and you can enter via either the door on the Swan Street or that on the Biggin Street…..I’m not sure about the name of the street, but you won’t miss it as long as you see The Rushes.

The third store is Somerfield, which is a supermarket. I usually buy fresh food here, since the other two stores don’t sell it. Their fruits and vegetables are a little expensive than those on the open market, but you can try to spot something price-reduced. Also, I strongly recommend their self-branded products. For example, a loaf of bread of another brand sells 0.69 pound, but the same thing of Somerfield brand is only 0.29! If you don’t really care about brand names, I think Somerfield will be your best choice to buy food. The Loughborough store is on the Market Street.
