域名移轉：Namecheap到Name.com

原本的域名註冊商（domain-name registrar）Namecheap價格雖非頂便宜，但服務完善又穩定，這一兩年也從eNom的經銷商晉升為ICANN直接認可的註冊商。我並不太想離開那裡，然而最近域名價格普遍上漲，Namecheap的.net價格也從我註冊當時的8.88美元漲到08年11月現在的9.69元，怕他們還會漲下去，於是興起把域名移轉到別的註冊商的念頭。

網路上很多人都推薦GoDaddy，不過我怎看GoDaddy的網站設計就是不順眼…字體太小又太花了！找了一下，其實便宜又可靠的註冊商也不多，最後決定落腳Name.com，域名移轉一年的費用7.99元，之後就是原價8.99。

下面記錄域名移轉經過：

11月6日

1. 在Name.com註冊帳號。
2. 登入Namecheap，在「Manage Domains」頁面點選要移轉的域名。在地址和信箱欄位的下方，按下「Get EPP code」的連結（如下圖）。Namecheap會將授權碼（EPP/Auth code）寄到註冊人（registrant）信箱。



3. 在Name.com首頁點選「Transfer Domains」項目，填入域名及授權碼送出。接著填入域名所有人相關資料。
4. Name.com結帳完成，收到帳單。
5. Name.com寄出移轉確認函到註冊人信箱，信中指示若確認移轉就「按下某連結」，不移轉則不用做任何動作：

To PROCEED with the transfer, please click on the following URL:LINK
To DENY the transfer, do not respond to this message.

到這步為止，在Name.com的域名狀況顯示：

# Transfer has been requested from the losing registrar and we are now waiting for the transfer to be approved. If the losing registrar does not specifically approve the transfer, it will take five (5) days from the Registry Request Date before the transfer completes.
# Unable to perform successful DomainInfo command on domain. Domain not yet transfered.

11月8日
收到Namecheap的移轉確認函，信中指示若確認移轉就「不用做任何動作」，不移轉則要按下某連結。假使過了11日都沒有動作，就是默認移轉（做法跟Name.com正好相反，害我差點搞混）：

NameCheap.com received notification on Nov 6 2008 12:00AM (EST) that you have requested a transfer to another domain name registrar. If you want to proceed with this transfer, you do not need to respond to this message. If you wish to either cancel or expedite the transfer, please respond to this message before Nov 11 2008 12:00AM (EST) by using the following URL:LINK

我感到詫異的是，Name.com在6日就顯示要等待原註冊商的回應，但Namecheap沒有回應，不知是否因為這個域名當初是在eNom名義下註冊的關係（Namecheap以前是eNom的經銷商）。總之我的域名恐怕就是得等到11日之後才會開始移轉了。

11月12日
移轉完成，但不管是Name.com或Namecheap都沒有發出通知，是我自己登入Name.com才發現的。

而且登入Namecheap，發現域名還掛在帳號下（不過這時已經查不到資料）。後來才知道，要按下「Synchonize Domains」的連結，網站才會讀取最新的Whois資料。等同步完畢後，帳號裡就看不到域名了。
